3 Investments I have made back in 2016

Hello there! It’s been awhile since my last blog post (the time I draft this post), I have actually a couple of drafts I am yet to finish. One of the reason why is my packed schedule in vosFoyer. I gotta say Q4 last years have been pretty much busy since a couple of projects coming along together which were actually good, close the year-end with good revenue isn’t it? Haha! We do need the bloody financial supply! Indeed!

Anyway, if you follow me on Instagram, I, several times, have said I am a lack-of-sleep bloke, pretty much yes. Approximately 4-5 hours a day is my sleeping period since I like to stay awake during midnight doing anything I can do. As if I can extend a day to be more than 24 hours, I sure would love to. It’s like too many things in my mind I want to explore.

In my point of view, there is a big difference being a corporate employee to an entrepreneur. Back then, I had a sufficient sleeping period without being have to think much about what to do tomorrow. I mean, there is strong urge from inside me to develop my capabilities beyond what I was back then. Yet, ever since I built my own startups, it is necessary for me to keep learning and finding new things which allows me to catch up with digital marketing trend which happens to be very dynamic. Thus, it requires a never-ending learning process from my own side. Moreover, I always love to cope with new expertise which I have never learnt before. Fun eh? HARD TIMES!!!
Investment or Expenses?

My self-learning requires me to do more spending; well, I wouldn’t call it expenses but rather investments as they enrich me as a person to be better in terms of quality. Let’s define them one by one:

1. Purchase more books.

I didn’t make a good friend with books back then, until the time a couple of my friends encourage me to allocate time to read books. For Japanese, reading is a habit which allows them to be creative and innovative to what they do. Ignore the point where they have intense life, but look how excellent they are in creating technology and trends. In Indonesia, we live in an experience-based society where lack of reading but learning by doing. Is it wrong? Not really since there are a lot of success stories related to this character, but, couldn’t it be better if we are making something along with the proper knowledge and minimizing the potential error we ought to do? Thus, I start reading to contain myself with abundant information which I can further apply in vosFoyer.

2. Purchase more camera equipment

I have been playing with camera equipment since 2008, and since then, it is my largest expense of all time. For me, camera is a tool which allows me to explore my creativity side. It is true that when you fall into photography, your expenses just sky-rocketing to keep upgrading your current gears. But, the older I am, the wiser I am to select what I have to buy and what I don’t (although I still spend a lot for this). Fortunately, as I am developing a business related to visual experience, so it is worth for me to invest on quality camera equipment. Back in 2016, I leverage my competence to video-making which forces me to invest on video equipment too. Not much, but sufficiently to drain my bank account. Still worth it, in my opinion, to step out my comfort zone to learn video. ON POINT!

3. Purchase more Body & Mind Refreshing Beverage

Back to the point my lack-of-sleep way of living, I require a refreshing drink to start my day. It turns to be my morning routine to consume RTD in the morning, so it becomes my daily habitual where I dropped by convenience store nearby my office to grab RTD tea.

Talking about RTD tea, I am aware with the presence of Teh Pucuk Harum every morning when I make a visit to both Indomaret and Alfamart around my office. I have been trying several RTD tea brands, alternating my consumption testing which one tastes good and I found Teh Pucuk Harum gives a proper fresh feeling and sweetness to my palate.

“Rasa Teh Terbaik Ada di Pucuknya” you might be familiar to this tagline. Frankly speaking, I am not a tea expert and I know less about tea, rather I understand coffee more than tea. However, for an amateur tea-drinker like me, Teh Pucuk Harum delivers a pleasant RTD tea drinking experience to provide fresh feeling post-consuming.

If you are aware, Teh Pucuk Harum also participated in big events like DWP, JakCloth, and JGTC back in 2016 as sponsor I believe. As a brand, it is necessary to show the existence by involving in big events which also attracts my attention as consumer. It happens that they are doing digital campaign #StayCoolnFresh in Instagram as part of their involvement in DWP 2016. Cool eh? Apart from that, you can also find Teh Pucuk Harum in Fast food outlets like CFC, Wendys or Foodcourts in shopping malls, makes it very easy to find and enjoy.

So, there are 3 investments I made to improve myself in 2017. What do you consider as your life investments and also let me know if you have any experiences with Teh Pucuk Harum too. I wanna hear your stories by dropping your comments down below.

Thank you for reading this and see you on the next post!

Sincerely yours,
